DEERs Program
DEERS stands for the Defense Enrollment Eligibility System. It is a large database that helps the Army keep track of soldiers and their dependents – your spouse and children.
While only dependents 10 and over are required to have Military ID cards, all dependents, regardless of age, must be enrolled in DEERS.
The following table would describe the DEERS and Military ID requirements for a soldier with a spouse and three children ages 5, 9 and 13.

Additional Resources
Learn who the Army considers eligible dependents (Word File).
If you have family members with special needs, such as a parent, child or spouse, please contact Army Community Service and ask them about their Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP).
You can also check online to see which of your dependents are enrolled in DEERS and to update their addresses. For security reasons, it will not display the current address.
If you choose to make any updates, fill in ALL the blanks. Leaving blanks will erase any existing information when you SUBMIT the changes.
Visit the DEERs Authentication Page or call 1-800-538-9552 to confirm that your eligible dependants are enrolled in DEERS.
